New Agent - Contracting & Certification Instructions

Welcome to Health Net! We are pleased that you would like the opportunity to sell our MA and MAPD plans. Prior to marketing or selling any Health Net Medicare products, you MUST follow each step below to ensure accurate completion and efficient processing of your Broker Agreement.

Agent Qualifications

Becoming a new Agent with Centene to offer our Health Net products is simple! Completing the steps below will ensure you are eligible to market and sell our Medicare Advantage products.

Step 1: Licensing & National Producer Registration

Visit the State Department of Insurance website(s) to view and complete the requirements on becoming a licensed Agent for all the state(s) in which you intend to market and sell Health Net Medicare Advantage products.

Please note: You must have the required line of authority to proceed.

Step 2: AHIP Fraud Waste & Abuse and Compliance Exam

Complete and pass the Annual AHIP Certification training for the applicable plan year.

  • Go to our Certification Site and complete the registration process 
  • Take the AHIP Fraud Waste & Abuse and Compliance exam and obtain your AHIP Certification of Completion. Please retain a copy for your records. 

Note: If you have already completed the AHIP Fraud Waste & Abuse and Compliance certification, you can transmit your training transcript to our Certification Site, which will ensure your AHIP completion is automatically linked.

Step 3: Health Net Certification Training and Exam

Complete and pass the Health Net Medicare Advantage Product training for the state(s) in which you intend to market and sell in.

Important Note - At the completion of the Health Net Certification course, you will be able to save the completion certificate to retain for your records as well as upload the documentation during onboarding.

For all Oregon/Washington-based brokers: You are required to attend one in-person training session.


Agent Onboarding

Step 1: Contracting – Agent Onboarding Process

New Agents must submit an Onboarding request via the Broker Online Self Service Tool to proceed.

Note: If you are working with an upline or agency firm, please work with them to get contracted with Centene so that your relationship with that agency is captured correctly. You will need to retrieve your upline's National Producer Number (NPN) in order to proceed. This information must be entered under the Affiliation NPN field provided on the Agent Agreement during Onboarding. Please proceed by clicking on the link below for a Selling Agent.

 

Working with an Upline?

Affiliated Agent – if you are working with an upline or agency firm, please work with their administrator on how to become a contracted Agent/Broker to sell Health Net products with that Agency.

Step 2: Ready to Sell Notification

Health Net will send you an email advising that you are ready to begin marketing and selling Medicare Advantage plans for us for the state(s) listed on the onboarding request as long as all state-level requirements have been satisfied.

You cannot market or sell any Health Net Medicare products until you receive a confirmation email from Health Net acknowledging your application submission was successful and completion of both the Fraud Waste & Abuse and Compliance Exam and the Health Net Certification Training has been received.

Step 3: Broker Portal Access

After you received the ready to sell notification email from Health Net, you are now able to create an account through our Broker Portal to view your book of business and commissions statements.

Important Note - Your Broker Portal website account access is separate from the online Broker Self Service Tool Account and needs to be accessed separately.
